On this day in 1990, Space Shuttle Discovery soars into the morning skies above Florida, carrying a crew of five and the Hubble Space Telescope. Launch of STS-31 from Pad 39B occurs at 8:33:51 a.m. EDT.
Also, this is the first time since January 1986 that a Shuttle is on each pad, 1.6 miles apart.
Happy 24th Birthday Hubble! Thanks for all the amazing views!
