Multipurpose Launcher Platform 60% Completed

The Multipurpose Launcher Platform (MLP), mainly designed and built for Galaxy Project was now completed by 60%. Dragon X expected the MLP would be 100% completed and arrived to SVAC to make a preparation for its "team mate", the launch tower to arrive at the beginning of November this year.


The launch tower for Launch Pad 21a was planned to begin to build on the mid of October 2011. Launch Pad Engineer, Quek Ching Eia made a change on the MLP original designation.

Galaxy X1 Launch Maybe Be Delayed

Originally scheduled 24 November 2011, Thursday launch of Dragon X's first Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) Fueled Rocket, Galaxy X1 maybe will be delayed. Due to some inconvenience reports received that Launch Complex 21 may be close for a short time during Galaxy's launch week.

Cameron, Chester, Hongz, Ching Eia and Izzuan will undergo for a meeting to over come the inconvenience. If Launch Complex 21 couldn't be used for the launch, then Dragon X would considered to open a new launch site to used.

By the other inconvenience report, there might be other programme that will involve the launch crew of Galaxy X1. By the other side, Dragon X will make a setup to open Galaxy's Back-up Launch Attempt on no earlier than 13 December 2011.

Dragon X will also try to get back 24 November 2011 launch schedule to prevent Aquarius M-41e final mission be delayed.

Booster Wrapped Up For October Preparation

Engineers had wrapped up Galaxy's booster for October preparation. The 50cm height booster with the fuel tank in it was wrapped up in SVAC for the October preparation.


The booster which began to build on 6 September 2011 was being planed to place on its fuel cap and mock up to the capsule by the beginning of November this year.

Besides, Dragon X planned for the arrival of the Multipurpose Launcher Platform (MLP) to Dragon X on 27 September 2011, which is now in building at Kedai Iklan Sinaran. And the launch tower for Galaxy will be build in the mid of October 2011.

Surviving EX

IMSS Programme was the first cancelled flight from designation; and Phantom X Project was the last cancelled flight for Dragon X.


On 9 May 2008, the failure launch of the third International Malaysia Space System (IMSS) forced Dragon X to close up IMSS designation. Followed up by the Shadow Project, Hypersonic X-386, Diamond Ring Project and the last, Phantom X Project.

Shadow Project, Diamond Ring Project and Phantom X Project were cancelled due to the failure of the Ignition Burn Pod (IBP). While Hypersonic X-386 was cancelled due to an accident during attachment onto Ocean 2 on 31 July 2008.

EX Programme was the only one Dragon X's longest operating programme since 2008. EX Programme is the only one surviving designation until today, which the designation is still in the development of Dragon X.

The other designation is Aquarius, which will launch for the final mission on 20 December 2011. Aquarius will launch on the close up mission for the entire Water Rocket Programme, and was also known as the M-41e mission.

Remember Phantom X


In April 2011, Dragon X had cancelled the Phantom X Project from the designation after being postponed for about 5 months since its failure launch on 09 December 2011.


The launch of the original planned last flight launch for Dragon X's water rockets designation was delayed when the Ignition Burn Pod (IBP) was detected by a failure operating system during the countdown at 7.30am.

Then the flight was postponed until this year and the new designation of Galaxy Project had announced, Dragon X confirmed for the Phantom X Project to be cancelled from its designation.

SVAC Being Active For Galaxy

On 06 September 2011, the 50cm height fuel tank had arrived to SVAC to begin Galaxy manufacturing. The 2cm diameter fuel tank, was planned to fill with 157.1cm/3 of Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) and powdered sugar for ignition.


After the arrival of the fuel tank to SVAC, engineers began to manufacture the outer structure of the vehicle. Then, the fuel tank was inserted into the rocket.

The operation in the Space Vehicle Assembly Center (SVAC) again continue for Galaxy, after the last operation ended by Phantom X last year, which was cancelled from designation in April 2011.

Galaxy was planned to be completed of its body structure before 14 September 2011. While the Simulator Deck (SD) and its Launch Abort Flap (LAF) will be manufactured after 21 October 2011.

Dragon X was still opened the launch window on 24 November 2011, at 4.21pm. The news conferences of Galaxy's Launch Schedule and Approval will be held on 28 October 2011, after the first test of the KNO3 fuel on 25 October 2011.

Aquarius' Launch Date Set For Final Launch

Dragon X had set a launch date of Aquarius' final launch on 20 December 2011. Dragon X had approved and Aquarius was confirmed to be roll out for launch on 20 December 2011.


Aquarius was originally completed its third and the last mission on 18 October 2011 by the second test onto Descending and Recovery Chute for Phantom X Project. After its retirement on 20 October 2011, it is now displaying at Dragon X.

Aquarius will be roll into the Space Vehicle Assembly Center (SVAC) for final preparation right after Galaxy X1 Development Flight launch on 24 November 2011. Launch window for Aquarius is opened at 7.53pm, the first rocket night launch to be make for Dragon X.

Launch Complex 21 Being Build

Dragon X will began the building of the Launch Complex 21 today. Making a preparation for Galaxy X1 Development Flight launch on 24 November 2011, 4.21pm.


The Mobile Launcher Platform will be first to build in the launch pad building process, the base pad that will hold the rocket before launch.
